Our Club

Something for Everyone

Informal Bowling
Either on your own or with one or more friends just have fun improving your skills or playing a casual game. Rinks for this purpose are available from 10am most days, when not booked for competitions or matches.

Roll ups
There are regular games organised most weekday mornings by one of our senior bowlers. It's a fun way to learn our sport.

Friendlies
Throughout the season we have a full programme of club matches, either home or away, against other local clubs. Check our Fixture page to see a full list. These matches are a bit more competitive but are also social occasions enjoyed by beginners as well as experience bowlers. We encourage all members to play friendly matches, as it’s an ideal way to improve your game in a relaxed way.

We also play against a number of Sussex County invitation teams. These are a bit more competitive, but still played in a friendly and sociable way, normally with a drink and refreshments after the game.

Leagues
On Tuesday evenings the Club has mens teams in the Eastbourne Town and District Leagues, whilst the ladies play their matches on a Wednesday morning, in the Eastbourne Town Ladies League. These games are at a more competitive level.

Club Competitions
The Club organises a range competitions for members to enjoy throughout the season. Please check Competitions page for more details.

National and County Competitions
Those members wishing to test themselves against bowlers from other clubs enter these competitions either on their own or with other club members.

Short Mat

Bowls Bash Club Afternoon

Bowls Bash

Bowls Bash is normally played in teams of two, with players delivering 30 bowls each per match. If the scores are level, a sudden-death tie-break determines the winner – one extra bowl per player. The challenge is simple – roll your bowl at the target, called the Jack. The closer you get, the more points you can earn for your team. A Bowls Bash Match lasts just an hour with everybody involved throughout.

Fun and friendship
During the summer our social activities are usually connected to bowls games. We enjoy teas in the clubhouse during games against other clubs, allowing time to chat and make friends. After informal games or practice sessions there is always time for tea and biscuits. In the winter months our social programme gets into full swing with a full range of activities that members enjoy.
